TICKET TO BRASIL is a Latin jazz, bossa nova, samba, and Afro-Brazilian fusion
project created around a collective love for the celebration of rhythm and for the
spirit of improvisation. The group was founded by classical and contemporary jazz guitarist and composer Pavel Jany, and it is based in Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN.
This international and renowned ensemble has performed at a number of local as
well as international events including the Winnipeg Jazz Festival, Hot Summer Jazz
Festival, MN Orchestra SommerFest, Twin Cities Jazz Festival, Bloomington Latin
Music Festival, MN State Fair, Sioux Falls Jazz Festival, Grand Marais Jazz Festival,
Global Jazz Festival, and many more.
The group has opened for internationally acclaimed artists such as Karrin Allyson
and Cibelle. TICKET TO BRASIL continues to be featured on Jazz 88 KBEM FM,
KFAI Radio, and on a number of local public TV channels.

Pavel Jany’s solo guitar repertoire consists of broad variety of music from
well known classical pieces to popular American jazz standards, elegant
bossa nova classics, Spanish flamenco, Argentine tango, and much more.

the term bossa nova itself promises. Lidia Berman on vocals and percussion, Pavel
Jany on guitar and Andrew Foreman on acoustic bass deliver vibrant mosaic of music
ranging from sultry, elegant and jazzy bossa nova classics to unique and complex
original compositions. TRIO BOSSA NOVA once again proves that less can sometimes
be more.
TRIO BOSSA NOVA is a new and fresh sound on the Twin Cities’ music scene. While
TICKET TO BRASIL is constantly evolving, expanding, and currently moving towards
the electric sound of Afro-Brazilian fusion, its newest offspring is moving in opposite
direction, that is toward classic acoustic bossa nova. Members of TRIO BOSSA NOVA
reveal bossa nova as an distinct genre that is both elegant and timeless.
